Yosuke Kubozuka (hereinafter, Kubozuka): When I first heard about it, I thought it was a joke, but it really came out, didn't it? Kamo is always wearing sunglasses. And the direction was, "don't make too many facial expressions," so I thought, "Isn't it always the same photo!?" "Couldn't we just take one shot and then just reuse it (laughs)?" "Wouldn't Tora's photos alone be enough?" I said (laughs). Have you seen it, Kame-chan?
Kazuya Kamenashi (hereinafter, Kamenashi): Yes, I have. Oh, the cover is different!
--There are two types: the regular edition cover and the Amazon-exclusive edition cover.
Kamenashi: It's a really cool world. I think it's luxurious to have so many off-shots. Since we actually shot in the drama's locations, it felt strange, like it was me but not me. They are truly cool photos.
--If you were to pick your best cut...?
Kubozuka: Kame-chan's photo is on page 101.
Kamenashi: Oh! That's good! The feeling of the smile.
--A smiling off-shot! A face you don't see in the drama.
Kubozuka: Mine would be page 93.

Kubozuka: Because I'm wearing "Kamo 2," my eyes are visible.

Kubozuka: "Kamo 2" only appeared once or twice. If I looked at the camera, I'd get caught (laughs).
(Kamo's usual sunglasses) are so dark you can't tell even if you strain your eyes. But one cameraman had a keen intuition and asked, "Oh? Kubozuka-san, weren't you looking at the camera just now?"
--(laughs). This photobook was made during the drama's filming, wasn't it?
Kubozuka: Yes. So, there were times when we successfully carried over the tension of the filming scene. For revenge scenes or after finishing shooting on the street, we could do it with high tension.
Kamenashi: Since it was an extension of acting, I think the characters' intensity came out even more.
--What's the recommended way to enjoy the "Gedo no Uta" official photobook?
Kubozuka: Talk about your favorite photos. And count how many identical patterns I have.
Kamenashi: There are many (laughs). There are even some where you've taken off your sunglasses (laughs).
Kubozuka: Everything else is the same. I should have just taken one photo!
Kamenashi: No, no, no! (laughs) Off-shots and smiles in Kamo's style are precious. But it's amazing, in these scenes (pages 16-19), the expressions are different.
It captures the "gray zone" between our natural selves and our roles. Even off-shots, while carrying the character's expression, also show glimpses of non-character expressions, which is good.
Kubozuka: Off-shots are precious.
Kamenashi: Tora without tattoos is also precious (looking at page 117).
Oh, the scene shot at the supermarket first thing in the morning (page 115) is also included in the off-shots. It's nice to enjoy these behind-the-scenes glimpses of the shooting.
