Ten 'hit-makers' who shape the era and drive people into a frenzy share their honest 'new work theories for professionals.' In an era of rapid change, what kind of thinking is necessary to achieve results five years from now?
● "The moment you step outside the frame is when you elevate yourself." ● "The shortcut to becoming a professional is to 'do the numbers.'" ● "Identify your 'position within the organization.'" ● "When you encounter a 'wall that must be overcome,' push through it." ● "Planning works best when you think about it 'three-dimensionally.'" ● "When in doubt, trust your 'honest self.'" ● "Communication starts with 'disclosing yourself.'" ● "While thoroughly 'verbalizing,' also remain conscious of 'non-verbalizable sensations.'" ……etc.
The podcast program 'Shihei Lin's Inazuma Flash,' which has been generating buzz since its launch in 2024, has been adapted into a long-awaited book! In addition to dialogues with eight guests active on the front lines of their respective fields, this book also includes a completely original, newly written conversation with radio producer Gen Ishii.
By touching upon the thinking of top runners across genres—including variety, drama, film, advertising, radio, anime, and comedy—readers will discover 'universal skills' applicable to any job, such as 'planning ability,' 'drawing power,' 'teamwork,' 'input ability,' and 'breakthrough power.' It is a book that brings new perspectives not only to creators but to all business professionals.

<Author's Comment> (Excerpt from the book) To be honest, when this podcast started, I felt quite relieved. I thought, 'A pro among pros' like Mr. Ishii is responsible for accompanying me, so it should be fine.
However, once I sat in front of the microphone, I was stunned by my own lack of speaking ability. Words wouldn't come out well. The conversation wouldn't expand. Even though, as an editor, I should be used to listening to authors, I felt so insecure when I became the one 'doing the talking'—this program began from that memory.
'Shihei Lin's Inazuma Flash' is a dialogue program where I, a manga editor, meet people I want to meet and delve deeply into their lives.
I believe the most important things in manga are the characters and the story. That is why, in this program, I have treated these top runners and creators from various fields not by their 'titles,' but as 'characters,' and have continued to ask about their fundamental desires and the story of their lives.
Just like a serialized work. With each episode, the portrait of the person gradually emerges, and the reasons behind their successes, failures, and choices become visible. That process itself is the core of this program.
That accumulation of dialogues has now taken the form of a book. First, I honestly think that I would be happy if this book could provide support to the team and management that have sustained the podcast.
And one more thing. Information is received and perceived in completely different ways through audio versus text. The heat that is conveyed precisely because it is a voice. The words that you can stop and think about precisely because they are written. If new realizations are born by 'reading the dialogues again' through this book, there is no greater joy for me.
I want this book to be picked up by people who want to work happily, people who want to know the joy and agony of imagining and creating, and people who are craving some kind of stimulation.
It is not a book that contains the answers. But, a spark of courage to take a step forward or a trigger for thinking— If I can light such small, lightning-like realizations within someone, That is my greatest wish for this book.
