Funai Consulting Incorporated (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Daisuke Shingai, hereinafter "Funai Consulting"), a management consulting firm with specialized consultants targeting mid-tier and small-to-medium-sized enterprises, has been promoting a project commissioned by the Children and Families Agency. The project involves the promotion of concrete initiatives following the formulation of the "Basic Vision for Child Development until Early Childhood" (research and study for the enhancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge: promotion of the "First 100 Months Vision" by professionals involved with children).

We are pleased to announce that the Children and Families Agency has released a collection of case studies created based on interviews regarding the practical examples of "people involved in child development from a professional standpoint" nationwide.

This collection of case studies will be disseminated by the Children and Families Agency to local governments and professional councils across the country, and is intended to be utilized to assist the activities of those who support child development from various positions on a daily basis.

Purpose and Background of the Project Based on the "First 100 Months Growth Vision" approved by the Cabinet in December 2023, it is important to provide seamless support for the growth of all children and improve the well-being of parents and caregivers. In this project, we collected practical examples of initiatives that people involved in child development from a professional standpoint can implement to realize the vision, and held multidisciplinary roundtable discussions. By compiling these outcomes into a case study collection, we aim to support those who assist children, parents, and others from various positions daily so that they can undertake concrete actions and practices that contribute to the promotion of the vision from their respective standpoints, thereby aiming to improve the quality of child development.

What is the "First 100 Months Growth Vision"? The "First 100 Months Growth Vision" (approved by the Cabinet on December 22, 2023) indicates that the "first 100 months" from before a child's birth to around the first grade of elementary school is the most important period that forms the foundation of a child's lifelong well-being (physical, mental, and social happiness). Furthermore, in order to support the growth of all children during their "first 100 months," it is considered important to provide seamless support for child development and to increase the depth of the environment and society that support child development by fostering interaction and connection among people who support child development from various positions.
