Fuller Inc. (Headquarters: Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture; President and CEO: Masashi Yamazaki; hereinafter 'Fuller') has released the 'Healthcare App Usage Trends by Age Group Report 2026', which analyzes the actual usage of healthcare apps by age group based on data accumulated in its app market analysis service 'App Ape'.
This report provides a multifaceted analysis of healthcare app usage trends, including changes in usage time, usage patterns by age group, frequency of use, time of day usage, and the most popular apps among each age group.
The analysis found that even as overall smartphone usage time shows signs of saturation, the usage time of healthcare apps continues to increase.
In addition to apps that support health management and exercise habit formation, the digitalization of healthcare services—such as online medical consultations, medication notebooks, women's health management, and sleep management—has revealed different usage trends and needs across generations.

Highlights of the 'Healthcare App Usage Trends by Age Group Report 2026'

Comparing healthcare app usage time in March 2026 relative to March 2025, increases were observed among men and women in their 20s, men in their 30s and 40s, and women in their 50s.
In particular, women in their 20s saw a 1.7x increase, the highest growth among all gender and age groups. This shows that healthcare app usage is expanding even as overall smartphone usage time plateaus.
② Older generations tend to use multiple healthcare apps
Analysis of users who used at least one healthcare app in March 2026 revealed that the proportion of users using multiple apps increases with age.
Among users aged 60 and over, 19.1% used five or more healthcare apps, surpassing the 11.3% seen in their 20s. This suggests that older users are leveraging apps for multiple purposes, including health management, medical services, and exercise management.

Looking at healthcare app usage by time of day, morning usage was highest across all age groups, peaking between 6:00 and 7:00 AM.
