Professor Emeritus Toshio Yamaguchi of Fukuoka University has been awarded the 2025 'Honorary Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society' following nomination and selection by the society. Professor Yamaguchi has conducted extensive research on the structure and changes of solutions under various extreme conditions, including high temperature, high pressure, and high-concentration salt environments. He has also served as a professor at the Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The Honorary Fellow designation is a prestigious title conferred by the Chinese Chemical Society to internationally renowned chemists. Each year, approximately ten outstanding foreign scholars or experts are selected for this honor.

The award recognizes his research theme: 'Elucidation of solution properties under extreme conditions and contributions to the advancement of research methodologies.' Utilizing X-ray scattering and neutron scattering techniques, he has revealed complex solution structures and their dynamic transformations.

In addition, Professor Yamaguchi has been actively involved in research collaboration, academic exchange, and the mentoring of young researchers. His contributions extend beyond China, significantly advancing the global development of the chemical sciences, which was highly commended by the selection committee.
