Fukuoka University Holds Entrance Ceremony for the 2026 Academic Year

On Wednesday, April 1st, the entrance ceremony for the 2026 academic year was held at the Fukuoka University Second Memorial Hall, welcoming 5,046 new students. President Kiyofumi Nagata encouraged the students, stating, 'Life is a series of worries and suffering. However, having a dream gives you the strength to overcome these hardships and move forward positively. Think about how you want to be happy. If you have a dream, your possibilities and perspectives will naturally expand. The more opportunities you have to interact with diverse people, the more you can broaden your perspective and increase the chances of finding the dreams you should pursue. Expand your dreams and possibilities as you wish, and be bold.' The student representative, Gensei Akutagawa (School of Medicine), delivered the entrance address, saying, 'Being able to study at the historic and traditional Fukuoka University is a great joy, and at the same time, I feel a sense of responsibility as a university student. Faced with the development of AI and various challenges in international society, we want to continue thinking about what we can do as members of society and apply our learning to society. In our future university life, we may experience difficulties and failures, but we will strive to learn together with our peers, take on challenges proactively, and grow so that we can use the learning gained at Fukuoka University to serve society.' The Japanese drum club 'Kobuzaru' and the cheering squad sent powerful cheers, and after the school anthem was sung, colorful tapes flew through the air, welcoming the new students in a spectacular manner.
