Fuji TV's video distribution service FOD has decided to produce a new original drama based on Makino's popular shojo manga "Is It Not That I Will Obey Kuro-san?" as an FOD original work.

The original manga was serialized in "Bessatsu Friend" (Kodansha) from 2014 to 2021, capturing the hearts of many readers and earning overwhelming support. The cumulative circulation of the comic exceeds 6.5 million copies (as of 2026), and it was also adapted into a live-action film in 2016.

This story is a youth school love story depicting the struggles of Akaba Yu, an ordinary high school girl who dreams of a glamorous high school life after her debut, as she harbors a faint crush on Shirakawa Takumi, the most popular "Adored White Prince" in school who is kind to everyone, but is tossed around by Kurosaki Haruto, a devilish "Absolute Obedience Black Prince" who demands, "Obey me absolutely."

The story features the coveted composition that tickles the romantic heart unique to shojo manga, as well as classic situations that are sure to make your heart flutter, as Yu is torn between two handsome princes.
