Fuji TV Launches Exclusive Spin-off of Drama 'LOVED ONE' on Vertical Short-Form Drama App 'FOD SHORT'

Fuji TV has launched the exclusive distribution of 'LOVED ONE After Work: The Unfulfilled Proposal,' the first original episode spin-off from the currently airing April 2026 Wednesday 10 PM drama 'LOVED ONE,' on its vertical short-form drama app, 'FOD SHORT.'

'FOD SHORT' is a video streaming service based on the concept of "Short, yet memorable dramas," delivering vertical short-form dramas with episodes of about one minute each. Optimized for smartphone viewing, it allows users to easily enjoy dramas during their daily commutes or break times. Five episodes are available for free viewing each day.

This new series features the main cast from the original, including Yusei Yagi, Keito Tsuna, Seira Anzai, and Asuka Kawadoko, who portray the young forensic scientists of the 'MEJ' team, a forensic medicine unit with investigative authority. While maintaining the world of 'LOVED ONE,' it unfolds a new story not seen in the main series. Furthermore, a horizontal version of this series is scheduled for streaming on FOD Premium at a later date.

【Story】 The story follows the young forensic scientists working at the 'MEJ' team. One day, just as they are about to leave work, a young man brings in the body of his girlfriend. "I was going to propose to her today," he says. The hospital declared the cause of death as an acute myocardial infarction, but the man, unable to accept her sudden death, pleads for them to find the true cause. In a situation where no autopsy or examination is possible, the young scientists begin to pursue the truth of her death using the few traces left on the body and testimonies as clues. As the investigation progresses, what becomes clear is not just the cause of death, but also the unknown life of a woman who lived earnestly towards her dreams.
