Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel (Koto-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Yasuyasu Watanabe) will open its extensively renovated lobby on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, unveiling a new space themed as an 'oasis of unusual experience enveloped in rippling water and light.' To enhance convenience for guests attending exhibitions and events at nearby facilities, the hotel has introduced a new 'Packing & Dressing Room' where guests can comfortably organize luggage and change clothes. Additionally, following the success of the 2025 'Yurikamome 30th Anniversary Collaboration Room,' a second limited-time special collaboration room themed as a 'Yurikamome Mini Museum' will launch, featuring a retired train cab for guests to see, touch, and enjoy.
The hotel first opened in June 1999 and has long been a flagship property of WHG Hotels, beloved by domestic and international guests alike. Located just a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Big Sight, Japan’s largest convention center, this renovation aims to deliver an immediate sense of tranquility and sparkle the moment guests step into the hotel—inviting a deep breath and a true escape from the everyday.
A New Lobby Space Inspired by the Sky, Sea, and Waterscape of 'Ariake' (Moonrise)
The redesigned lobby draws on the imagery of Ariake’s sky, sea, and waterscapes, using calming blue tones reminiscent of the horizon and gentle beige to soothe tired minds and bodies. Maximizing natural light through high ceilings and large windows, the design incorporates reflections and gentle ripples that evoke the shimmering surface of water, creating an open and healing atmosphere unique to this waterfront district.
A Lobby Filled with Light and Openness
Symbol Zone
This area embodies the core concept of the lobby renovation, evoking the moonlight and sparkling water of Ariake. Soft light and openness fill the soaring atrium, gently relaxing the mind and body. At the center, a boat-shaped sofa serves as a photogenic spot where guests can actually sit and take commemorative photos.
The Symbolic Area of the Unusual Oasis
Thoughtful Zone
An information desk has been installed to provide details on shuttle buses to the airport and nearby theme parks. Additionally, a new guest-exclusive 'Packing & Dressing Room' allows stress-free luggage organization and changing before check-in or after check-out. At Ariake, the hotel has observed guests attending events at Tokyo Big Sight or visiting from overseas struggling with luggage and outfit changes. This innovative space enables guests to prepare for events or travel home light and refreshed, making pre- and post-stay time more comfortable and efficient. It supports diverse stay scenarios unique to the Ariake area, helping guests fully enjoy their special moments.

Connecting Lobby to Guest Rooms: A Unified Narrative
This renovation links the lobby’s 'brilliance of water and light' with the guest rooms’ 'serenity woven by moon and water,' aiming to create a cohesive experience throughout the hotel. Catering to each guest—whether visiting for exhibitions, events, leisure, sightseeing, or family trips—the hotel strives to be a place that heals the body and mind and recharges energy for tomorrow. Experience this new stay concept, made possible only in the waterfront sub-center district of Ariake.
