Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Tomohiko Chihiro) will hold the "British Afternoon Tea Etiquette Class," where participants can enjoyably learn about British tea culture and etiquette with their families, on July 29 (Wed) and August 19 (Wed).
◇Learn "First Etiquette Experience" with a Refreshing Afternoon Tea
This event is an etiquette class where participants can gently learn the basics of afternoon tea etiquette and enjoyment as an introductory course.
While savoring the visually refreshing and charming "Peach x Melon Afternoon Tea," participants will be introduced to basic manners such as napkin usage and handling of teacups, which are popular in the UK, the home of afternoon tea. The unique customs of afternoon tea, such as how to hold cutlery and enjoy scones, will be clearly explained through actual serving scenes.
The "Peach x Melon Afternoon Tea" is structured to be enjoyed "like a course meal," from amuse-bouche to savories and sweets, allowing guests to enjoy the gentle sweetness of peaches and the rich aroma of melons not only in sweets but also in savory dishes. The sequential menu presentation allows participants to experience the flow of afternoon tea while learning basic manners for a pleasant dining experience.
This event is suitable for adults to enjoy learning while appreciating the season, whether attending with friends or for a girls' gathering. It is also designed for children aged elementary school age and above to participate, making it a fun learning experience through hands-on activities.
By experiencing table manners together as a parent and child, it leads to a more elegant and enjoyable dining experience on special occasions. It is easy for first-time afternoon tea goers to understand and is recommended not only for creating summer vacation memories but also as an opportunity to more thoughtfully enjoy everyday meals.
Additionally, a souvenir "Tsubaki Tea" will be provided, which is a blend of sweet tea with camellia flowers grown organically in the Kesen region of Iwate Prefecture, characterized by its subtle sweetness. You can enjoy tea time at home as well.
