Fuji-Q Highland (Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture) has announced that the 3D sound attraction 'GeGeGe no Yokai Yashiki,' which has been beloved since its opening in 1997, will end operations on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

'GeGeGe no Yokai Yashiki' originally opened in July 1997 as a walk-through attraction. In April 2016, it was renewed as 'GeGeGe no Yokai Yashiki: Yokai Kobanashi,' a 3D sound attraction featuring an original 'slightly scary' story exclusive to the park. Over its history, including both the original and renewed periods, the attraction has hosted approximately 7 million visitors.

To express gratitude for nearly 30 years of partnership with 'GeGeGe no Kitaro,' Fuji-Q Highland will hold a campaign titled 'Volume 229: Farewell! GeGeGe no Yokai Yashiki' from Wednesday, April 29 to Sunday, May 17, 2026.

During this period, guests using attractions or shops within the 'GeGeGe no Yokai Yokocho' area will receive an original sticker. Additionally, an SNS campaign will collect memories, photos, and videos from fans. Ten selected contributors will receive 'GeGeGe no Kitaro' merchandise. Furthermore, special character greeting events with Kitaro himself will take place on May 3 and May 17.

We sincerely thank everyone who has supported 'GeGeGe no Yokai Yashiki' over the years. Please stay tuned for this grand finale campaign.
