Fujikanko Enterprise Co., Ltd. (Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture; President: Kazuya Shimura) will begin sales of "Sakura Bock," a limited-edition brew crafted to coincide with the cherry blossom season, on Friday, March 27, 2026.

"Sakura Bock" is a premium beer brewed in the harsh cold of December and aged for over three months to fully draw out the alcohol character and the umami of the malt.
In Germany, the home of beer, this long-aged style is known as "Doppelbock" (Doppel meaning "double" in German) and was historically enjoyed by monks as a source of nutrition during fasting periods.
By using approximately twice the amount of malt compared to standard beers and undergoing long-term aging, this year's batch has achieved a high alcohol content of 8% and a perfect balance of sweetness, bitterness, and aroma. We recommend serving it at around 8°C rather than chilling it too much.
It pairs excellently with dishes like meat stews or demi-glace sauces, and is also recommended as an after-dinner drink.
The beer will be available for purchase at the Fujizakura Heights Beer direct-managed "Sylvans Cafe & Shop" and via online retailers (Rakuten Ichiba).
The cherry blossoms at the foot of Mt. Fuji will soon be in bloom. Why not welcome the hanami season by tasting a "Sakura Bock" under the full blossoms and feeling the arrival of spring?
