・As part of summer vacation independent research activities, special events will be held including lectures on “The Anatomy of Honeybees” and “The World of Flowers and Bees,” along with an interactive quiz classroom titled “All BEE Thank You Festival” hosted by the “TBS Akasaka Honeybee Project,” an urban beekeeping initiative.

・The exhibition introduces the latest bee research featured in Nikkei Science, a map of nectar sources around Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi), and seasonal flowers favored by honeybees, offering a comprehensive journey into the world of bees.

Exhibition Overview

At FUJIFILM SQUARE, we present the photo exhibition “How Fun Honeybees Are! — The Great Power of Small Creatures —,” an engaging experience that allows visitors to learn about honeybee ecology and their surrounding environment through photographs and informative panels.

Honeybees do more than just produce honey—they play a vital role in pollinating many fruits, vegetables, and nuts, supporting our daily lives. This exhibition showcases rare, never-before-seen photographs of honeybees and flowers taken over many years by Dr. Masami Sasaki (名誉 Professor, Tamagawa University), a leading researcher in honeybee science, along with explanatory panels.

The exhibition is supervised by Mr. Susumu Takahashi, editor of the book “How Fun Honeybees Are! — An Urban Beekeeping Project That Nurtures People and Cities” (published by Nikkei Science Press), which documents the journey of the “TBS Akasaka Honeybee Project.” Launched in 2011 by TBS Holdings, Inc. (hereinafter “TBS”) in Akasaka as a pioneer of urban beekeeping, the project’s achievements are highlighted. The exhibition introduces biodiversity around Akasaka and honeybee activities, while also offering accessible explanations about the current state of urban beekeeping.

To help visitors experience “the great power of small creatures,” a variety of family-friendly events including beekeeping workshops and lectures will be held throughout the exhibition period. We warmly invite you to attend.
