FUJIFILM Imaging Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Matsumoto) has been commissioned by Chofu City Hall (Location: Chofu City, Tokyo; Mayor: Takaki Nagatomo) for the 'Chofu Station Plaza Bus Operation Information Digital Signage Installation Project'. As part of this project, a total of 10 units of our digital bus stop system and digital signage "MORA FOR BUS STOP®" (hereinafter referred to as "MORA") will be installed at Chofu Station Plaza. A comprehensive digital signage information board for buses will be installed in the center of the station plaza, and digital signage for bus stops will be installed at a total of 9 bus boarding areas at Chofu Station. These displays will provide information such as bus departure times, timetables, route maps, local information, and advertisements, contributing to improved convenience for bus users and the dissemination of regional information. The "MORA" installed at Chofu Station Plaza is scheduled to commence operation on April 1, 2026.
At Chofu Station Plaza, improvements to the transportation hub function are being advanced through the development of the traffic rotary. With an anticipated increase in visitors, a challenge has been to establish a system that clearly guides passengers to the correct boarding areas, destinations, and optimal buses, given the involvement of multiple bus operators (such as Keio Bus Co., Ltd. and Odakyu Bus Co., Ltd.). In response to these challenges, our digital bus stop system "MORA" has been adopted with the aim of improving transportation convenience at the station plaza.
"MORA" integrates information such as timetables, bus arrival notifications, and route maps on digital signage, providing essential information at a glance to bus users. By emphasizing timetable display by time of day, providing bus arrival notifications, and enabling real-time dissemination of operational information during disasters, it allows for detailed guidance tailored to specific situations, which was difficult with conventional bus stop signs. Furthermore, its high-definition display with 4K resolution creates a screen that makes even complex route information easy to understand. It will clearly display information for areas such as the tourist destination "Jindaiji," contributing to improved convenience for all users, including tourists.
Previously, commercial advertising was prohibited on bus stop signs along roads due to Tokyo Metropolitan Government advertising regulations. This time, Chofu City and our company aimed for sustainable operation of the digital signage utilizing advertising revenue and proceeded with consultations and adjustments with relevant organizations. As a result, after review by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Advertising Council, the handling of advertisements has been organized. This allows local businesses to display advertisements on "MORA," establishing a system where advertising revenue can be used to reduce the costs of signage operation and management. ■ About the Installation of the Digital Bus Stop System and Digital Signage "MORA" Installation Model: Digital Bus Stop System "MORA FOR BUS STOP®" Installed Bus Stops: 1st boarding area, 2nd boarding area, 3rd boarding area, 4th boarding area
