BUSCA LLC (Headquarters: Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture; Representative: Shoma Toida), operator of one of Japan's largest artist support platforms, "FROM ARTIST," has concluded all scheduled dates for the "FROM ARTIST U-25 Exhibition," held in conjunction with a metaverse space (VRChat) and a physical gallery in Nakameguro.

This release provides a summary report on the achievements of this project, which explored the potential of next-generation artists from the dual perspectives of digital and physical spaces, as well as the "new forms of art experience" that emerged from it.

Phase 1: "Psychological Safety" and Deep Dialogue Created by Avatars (VRChat Exhibition)

In the first half of the project, held in the metaverse (VRChat) space, communication via avatars resulted in a dramatic narrowing of the distance between artists and viewers.

While many viewers often feel that traditional gallery exhibitions are "intimidating" or that it is "difficult to speak directly to the artist," the VR space allowed for casual yet deep Q&A sessions regarding the works to take place late into the night.

[Voices of Participating Artists] "When I actually entered the VR exhibition, it was so realistic that I found myself saying, 'Wow, this is amazing!' It was a very comfortable space where we could easily exchange comments." (Yoko Oshidari)

"I could imagine the works being displayed in various rooms within the VR space, and by hearing feedback from the viewers' perspectives, I discovered, 'This is the form I like.'" (OR)

Phase 2: "Reverse Import" from Digital to Real (Nakameguro Physical Exhibition)

The excitement in the VR space culminated beautifully in the physical exhibition held along the Meguro River in Nakameguro on Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24.

Despite the limited hours during weekday daytime, more than 150 people visited over the two days. The most significant feature was the "reverse import" phenomenon, where people who had experienced the world of the works in the VR exhibition beforehand visited the physical site, driven by the desire to "see the actual textures and brushstrokes" and "talk to the artists in person."

Physical textures such as the "impasto of the paint" and the "breath of the artist," which cannot be fully conveyed through a screen, were further highlighted by having passed through the digital experience, creating a high-energy dialogue between visitors and young artists that had never been seen before.

Future Developments: Continuously Supporting Artists' Challenges

At "FROM ARTIST," we will not let this event end as a one-time exhibition; we will continue to promote the young talents we have discovered.

Currently, content such as dialogue videos and interviews with participating artists is being released sequentially on our official YouTube channel. Even those who could not attend the event can experience the background of their creations and their raw voices.

Building on the great success of this event, FROM ARTIST will continue to create steps for talented young artists to enter the public eye. We will further strengthen our support to lead the next generation of the art scene through both the utilization of digital technology and real-world touchpoints.
