FPCO Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and Chairman: Morimasa Sato; hereinafter "FPCO"), a manufacturer of food trays and containers, is pleased to announce that the number of stores participating in the "Store-to-Store" initiative, jointly promoted with retail companies, primarily supermarkets nationwide, has now exceeded 5,000 stores across the country.
● Journey to Exceeding 5,000 Stores We began collaborating with many companies that share our vision for realizing a sustainable society, strengthening the collection of used food trays and PET bottles, and promoting environmental education activities. Approximately three and a half years after the first collaborative declaration with Chugoku CGC in November 2022, the number of stores participating in the collaborative declaration reached 5,000 on March 2, 2026. Through partnerships with leading companies in each region, the recycling loop is steadily expanding across Japan. The companies that have made collaborative declarations to date are as follows:
[140 companies including groups, in order of declaration]
● About the Eco-Store Collaborative Declaration and Store-to-Store The Eco-Store Collaborative Declaration is an initiative where retail companies take the lead in setting environmental targets and advancing them together with FPCO. At its core, the "Store-to-Store" horizontal recycling is a circular initiative that starts and ends at the store. Used food trays and PET bottles collected at stores are reborn as eco-products through FPCO's unique "Tray-to-Tray"*1 and "Bottle-to-Clear Container"*2 recycling systems, and are then reused in the sales areas of those same stores.
The collected resources are transformed into eco-products such as "Eco-Tray," "Eco-APET," and "Eco-OPET," reducing CO2 emissions compared to products made from petroleum-derived virgin materials.

● Future Outlook [Further Expansion of the Eco-Store Collaborative Declaration] FPCO aims to expand this initiative to 300 companies and 10,000 stores, continuing to promote activities where "stores become eco-leaders in their communities." Through these efforts, we will work with retail companies and local communities to reduce environmental impact and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
[Strengthening Regional Environmental Education Activities Implemented Jointly with Retail Companies] 1. "Environmental Outreach Classes" for Elementary Schools We will conduct environmental outreach classes (recycling classes) at elementary schools in many regions, targeting children who will lead the next generation.
2. Donation of Educational Manga "Secrets of Food Trays" We will promote activities to donate educational manga for elementary school students, "Secrets of Food Trays," jointly produced by FPCO and Gakken, to local elementary schools.
3. Parent-Child Participation Tours and Store Events • Recycling Plant Tour Bus: We will conduct tours of FPCO's recycling plants. • Environmental Learning Events at Stores: We will hold environmental awareness events such as "Recycling Classes" at stores.
4. In-Store Information Dissemination and Awareness Aiming for "stores to become eco-leaders in their communities," we will actively engage with customers. • Posters and PR Activities: We will display "Eco-Store Collaborative Declaration Posters" to encourage participation in horizontal recycling. • Utilization of Digital Signage: We will promote the dissemination of recycling information using in-store digital signage.
Through these activities, FPCO and retail companies aim to deepen understanding of recycling throughout local communities and work towards realizing a sustainable society.
