<Overview of this initiative>
Fpco and Daiei aim for "stores to become eco-leaders in their communities." We ask local residents to bring their used food trays to Daiei stores, where they will be collected in designated collection boxes. The collected used trays will be recycled at Fpco's production plants and reborn as eco-products (※2) such as "Eco-Trays." The regenerated eco-products will be actively used again in Daiei's sales floors, realizing a circular horizontal recycling system called "Store-to-Store," where the collecting "store" and the "store" where eco-products are displayed are connected. Both companies will strengthen and expand this initiative to circulate local resources together with customers. Furthermore, we will work towards a target value for CO2 emissions that can be suppressed by using eco-products.
(※2) Eco-products: "Eco-Tray," "Eco-APET," and "Eco-OPET" made from collected resources.
