Fpco and New Daiei Sign "Eco Store Collaboration Declaration"

Fpco Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Chairman and Representative Director: Morimasa Sato, hereinafter "Fpco") and Daiei Inc. (Headquarters: Ibaraki-shi, Osaka, President and Representative Director: Yasuo Nishitoge, hereinafter "Daiei") jointly held a press conference on April 14, 2026, to announce that they have concluded an "Eco Store Collaboration Declaration" for 187 supermarkets operating in the Kinki area. This declaration aims to accelerate the realization of a sustainable circular society and strengthen/expand the "Store-to-Store" horizontal recycling initiative. Both companies aim for their stores to become "eco-leaders in their communities," actively contributing to reducing the environmental burden in their regions and effectively utilizing recycled resources to achieve a sustainable society. ● Key Points of This Initiative 1. Continuation and Strengthening of "Store-to-Store" Horizontal Recycling Daiei continues to collect used food trays through collection boxes installed in stores, with the cooperation of local residents. The collected used food trays are then recycled by Fpco into eco-products such as "Eco Trays" (Note 2). These recycled eco-products are actively used again in Daiei's sales floors, thus realizing a circular "Store-to-Store" horizontal recycling model where the "stores" that collect are linked to the "stores" where eco-products are displayed. Both companies will continue this initiative of circulating regional resources together with their customers. 2. Expansion of Eco-Product Usage and Increase in Used Food Tray Collection Volume In conjunction with this collaborative declaration, Daiei will further expand the use of "eco-products" recycled by Fpco and promote the "Store-to-Store" initiative. • Expansion of Eco-Product Usage: Starting October 2025, the food trays in the meat section have been switched to "Eco Trays." As a further initiative, we will promote the "eco-productization" of food trays used in each department. • Increase in Used Food Tray Collection Volume: To encourage the participation of local customers in recycling, we will conduct active PR activities through in-store recycling awareness posters and digital signage, as well as hold environmental awareness events, to increase the volume of used food trays collected. CO2 Emission Reduction Target Daiei will contribute to CO2 emission reduction through the active use of eco-products and the promotion of "Store-to-Store."
