FreakOut, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Keiji Tokiyoshi; hereinafter “FreakOut”) has, since joining the "Originator Profile Technology Research Association" (hereinafter, "OP Association") in June 2025 (Chairman: Jun Murai, Distinguished Professor at Keio University Special Zone for MEXT), contributed to the social implementation of OP technology from the perspective of a DSP operator responsible for the advertising distribution現場. OP technology technically visualizes information and advertisements from trusted senders.
FreakOut has now participated as a DSP (Demand-Side Platform) operator, a key player in advertising distribution, in a demonstration project for the development and social implementation of "Originator Profile" (hereinafter, "OP") technology, which certifies the origin of web articles and advertisements. This project is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Development and Demonstration Project for Countermeasures against False/Misleading Information on the Internet (FY2025)". FreakOut has completed distribution verification using actual digital advertising trade flows. We are pleased to announce that through this demonstration project, it was confirmed that OP technology functions correctly in advertising transactions via DSP/SSP, and that advertisements are delivered to users with the explicit identification of the ad originator and the authenticity of websites and article content ensured.

Background and Purpose of This Demonstration Project
Recently, sophisticated fake news due to the malicious use of generative AI and scam advertisements impersonating celebrities have become social problems. There is an urgent need for a mechanism to ensure the trustworthiness of information, such as "who sent the information." OP technology is a technology that attaches an "electronic signature (originator certification)" to web content, allowing users to easily identify whether information is safe.
As a leading company in managed advertising, FreakOut has been involved in verifying the application of this technology to advertising transactions, aiming to improve brand safety in internet advertising and build a healthy ecosystem where advertisers, media, and users can use it with peace of mind.
FreakOut's Role in This Demonstration Project
This demonstration project was led by the OP Association and was conducted on two main axes: the introduction of OP technology to media and local governments, and the verification of its application in advertising transactions. FreakOut participated in the latter, the advertising transaction demonstration, as a DSP operator.
Specifically, we verified the technical integration of OP technology with the existing infrastructure of FreakOut's DSP product "Red", and confirmed that OP-signed advertising creatives were successfully distributed through actual programmatic advertising trade flows (DSP -> SSP -> Media). FreakOut has traditionally established and operated a system that conducts due diligence on advertisers and creative reviews, distributing only ad campaigns that have passed strict screening. It was confirmed that by integrating OP technology with this system, the identification of the ad originator and the prevention of creative tampering are technically guaranteed.
Key Achievements of This Demonstration Project
1. Demonstration of "Transparency" and "Soundness" in Advertising Transactions
OP-enabled ad banners were distributed via actual ad distribution systems (DSP/SSP). With municipalities and private companies participating as advertisers, FreakOut's technical infrastructure was utilized to confirm that the ad originator could be explicitly identified in actual digital advertising trade flows.
As a result of the verification, brand safety (whether the placement is safe)
