Otsuki Ecological Campground in Otsuki Town, Kochi Prefecture (operated by FoundingBase Inc., headquartered in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Kenji Yamamoto, hereinafter 'FoundingBase') has newly installed the 'Umitabi Pit' and 'Jabu Jabu Base' on June 1st, allowing cabin (bungalow) guests to maintain their personal gear. 👉 Official Website of Otsuki Ecological Campground: https://ecocam-otsuki.net/
Background of the Renovation
Otsuki Ecological Campground hosts visitors with various purposes, including swimming and sightseeing.
In recent years, there has been an increase in guests bringing their own gear, and feedback such as 'We want a space to wash swimsuits' and 'We need a place to dry washed items' has been received.
Therefore, we have prepared the 'Umitabi Pit' and 'Jabu Jabu Base' as comfortable support facilities that allow guests to wash and dry their equipment on-site, enhancing the overall sea trip experience.
Guests can now fully enjoy the ocean in the Otsuki-Hatado area until the very last moment of their stay.
Highlights of the Renovated Facilities
Newly Installed 'Pit-in Function' at the 'Jabu Jabu Base' Terrace
The upgrades include the wooden deck and shared washing area. With this upgrade, guest circulation during their stay has been streamlined, allowing for a more comfortable 'sea trip' experience!
'Immediate Reset' – Eliminating Discomfort in Shared Showers and Keeping Cabins Clean
After returning from the sea, guests can immediately rinse off with fresh water at the 'Jabu Jabu Base' located behind the sanitary area. This eliminates the stress of bringing sand into shared shower rooms, sticky feet, and clogged drains. Additionally, since sand can be completely removed before entering the cabin, the interior remains clean and smooth, allowing guests to relax barefoot at all times.
'Pit-in Function' on the Terrace – Eliminating Damp, Sticky Swimwear the Next Morning
Each cabin's terrace is now equipped with a dedicated water tap, foldable bucket, durable hangers suitable for wetsuits, and a drying rope. By thoroughly drying gear in the pleasant evening breeze, the unpleasant feeling of putting on cold, damp swimwear the next morning is eliminated, even during multi-night stays.
'Freedom from Time' – Enjoy the Ocean Until the Very Last Minute of Your Stay
With the ability to clean and neatly pack gear on-site, guests can now enjoy the ocean in Otsuki and Hatado areas until the very last moment, even on checkout day, without worrying about time. This enables a lightweight, new travel style where the 'tedious post-trip cleanup' is completed in advance at the location.
During peak times, please use the dedicated washing areas provided at each cabin for your personal gear and swimwear.
A New Way to Enjoy 'Sea Trips' Made Possible by Eco-Camping
Taking care of your own gear with your hands and fully enjoying nature—
This is a new summer experience unique to eco-camping.
DAY 1
[15:00] Check-in: Arrive at Your Family's 'Secret Base'
Check in to your cabin surrounded by nature. The private space, filled with the warmth of wood, hints at the adventures to come. If you've booked the 'Complete Sea Play Package,' you can pick up your rental gear here and smoothly head out to the nearby private beach or Kabira Island.
[17:30] After Returning from the Sea, Head Straight to the 'Jabu Jabu Base'!
After returning from the sea and heading back to your cabin, go straight to the shared washing area. Without worrying about filling the shower room with sand, you can thoroughly rinse your valuable personal gear and swimsuits with fresh water. Since sand is completely removed immediately upon return, the cabin interior remains clean and smooth, allowing you to relax barefoot throughout your stay.
[18:00] Family 'Pit-in' Time at Dusk
After returning to your cabin with freshly washed gear, it's time to use the dedicated pit on the terrace. Quickly rinse away fine sand and salt that have gotten into clothing crevices using the dedicated tap, then hang them on the fixed drying rope. With the natural landscape bathed in sunset hues as your backdrop, seeing your gear lined up neatly feels just like your own private garage. Enjoy a perfect adult moment, sipping beer while reminiscing about the day's adventures with your children, saying, 'Today's sea was amazing!'
Dinner: Barbecue Amid Nature and a Night Under a Star-Filled Sky
Dinner is a barbecue on the open wooden deck terrace. Enjoy a luxurious meal in your private BBQ space. After dinner, a special moment awaits as you gaze at the vast starry sky spread across the campsite. Experience a night in harmony with nature, comfortably distinct from the uniform service of hotels.
DAY 2
