Fortience Consulting Co., Ltd. (formerly KUNIE Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, represented by President and CEO Shigeki Yamaguchi, hereinafter referred to as Fortience) has launched "re:Question" (https://www.fortience.com/req/), an exploratory media site aimed at questioning the premises of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and opening up its possibilities, on June 30.

This site will introduce the practical knowledge of SCM that Fortience has cultivated to date in various formats, including explanatory articles, dialogues, videos, and templates. Additionally, at the end of each explanatory article, we have included "Questions for Exploration" to help readers reflect on their own business operations. This allows readers not only to gain knowledge of trends and case studies from other companies but also to reflect on their own business operations through these questions, identify the issues that truly need to be solved, and connect them to actions for SCM transformation.

In the future, we aim to become a platform that promotes mutual learning and co-evolution among companies by developing and expanding community functions where SCM practitioners can share questions and insights.

Background

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a core function that supports corporate competitiveness and social infrastructure, yet it has largely been discussed in the context of "how to reduce and optimize costs and inventory." With the advancement of generative AI and agent-based AI, and the rise of geopolitical risks, its importance has increased more than ever.

On the other hand, looking at the sources of information for learning and thinking about SCM, many are limited to textbook methods and introductions to trends. Fortience believes that the root cause of the recurring issues in SCM lies not in the technology itself, but in the "premises (structures, ways of thinking, worldviews)" that have supported SCM.

This site was launched with the aim of becoming a place where practitioners involved in supply chains can deeply understand SCM from the perspectives of practice, theory, and technology, and learn and exchange questions together, by questioning these premises themselves (= re:Question).

Overview

"re:Question" is an exploratory media designed to help readers question the common sense and premises of SCM and consider the issues their own companies truly need to solve, through insights into SCM practice, theory, and technology, and the "Questions for Exploration" provided at the end of each article.

In the future, we will expand content through collaboration with external media and promote the development of community functions that allow practitioners to share questions and insights beyond corporate and positional boundaries.

Features

1. Introduction of Practical Knowledge Born from Large-Scale, Complex SCM Transformation Projects

SCM practical themes such as demand forecasting, S&OP, production planning, procurement, and logistics are explained in conjunction with the latest AI/digital trends and management theories. Rather than simply introducing individual case studies, we organize and present the knowledge accumulated by Fortience through involvement in large-scale and complex SCM transformations at various companies as structural issues common to the SCM field. This provides practical knowledge that includes not only textbook theories or success stories but also points for execution, such as inter-departmental interest adjustments, decision-making, governance, and on-site adoption.

2. "Questions for Exploration" to Connect Knowledge to Your Company's Issues

At the end of each article, "Questions for Exploration" are provided to help readers think about the explained content in relation to their own business operations. Instead of directly applying advanced cases or frameworks, these questions encourage readers to discover the problems their company truly needs to solve by reflecting on previously taken-for-granted premises, such as "Is this way of thinking truly suitable for our company?" or "Is SCM transformation solely about reduction and efficiency?" Fortience does not unilaterally provide answers but offers perspectives for readers to deepen their questions and consider their next actions.

3. Linked Content to Deepen Understanding of the Book and Update Latest Trends

We will continuously provide content linked to the book "Supply Chain Ecosystem in the Age of AI," scheduled for release on July 3, 2026. In addition to content that supplements and explains the theories and frameworks related to SCM 6.0: Generative SCM, systematically explained in the book, through diagrams and specific practical examples, we will also sequentially release content that updates the latest information, such as advancements in generative AI and agent-based AI, and trends in geopolitical risks since the book's publication. By using the book and this website in conjunction, a continuous learning cycle can be achieved, from acquiring theory to applying it in practice and responding to a changing environment.
