find Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Akira Takashima; hereinafter "find") has announced that its "Lost Property Cloud find" service will be adopted by JR Shikoku. With this decision, the service will now be implemented across all JR lines, allowing for the management of a vast amount of information representing approximately 10% of all lost property in Japan via "Lost Property Cloud find."
<Status of Implementation at JR Passenger Railway Companies> With this latest adoption, "Lost Property Cloud find" will be available at all of the following JR passenger railway companies: - JR Hokkaido (Hokkaido Railway Company) - JR East (East Japan Railway Company) *Operations to begin April 1, 2026 - JR Central (Central Japan Railway Company) - JR West (West Japan Railway Company) *Operations scheduled to begin around summer 2026 - JR Shikoku (Shikoku Railway Company) *Operations scheduled to begin October 2026 - JR Kyushu (Kyushu Railway Company)
◆ Background and Future Outlook Currently, approximately 24 million people use JR lines daily, and the volume of lost property handled accounts for roughly 10% of all lost items in Japan (*1). Due to this massive scale, JR passenger railway companies have historically dedicated significant labor to handling inquiries, returning items, and filing reports with the police.
In response to this, the introduction of "Lost Property Cloud find" enables AI-powered registration and searching, which is expected to significantly reduce management time and improve return rates.
Furthermore, the number of visitors to Japan reached a record high of approximately 42 million in 2025 (according to the Japan National Tourism Organization). Inquiries from international users are also surging. find has established a system that allows for direct inquiries via multilingual chat without the need for a dedicated app, creating a framework that can flexibly handle international usage. (*As of this release, this is only supported by JR Hokkaido.)
Moving forward, the company aims to expand implementation to related facilities such as JR Group commercial facilities and to enable "cross-search" capabilities. These steps will further accelerate the realization of find's vision: "A world where lost items are always found." (*1) Estimated based on 50 million lost items per year (find's estimate based on data).
◆ Comment from find CEO (Akira Takashima, CEO of find Inc.) Having our "Lost Property Cloud find" service used by JR passenger railway companies, which represent the railway infrastructure that Japan prides itself on, has been a dream since our founding. Expanding a common system across the railway network that spans Japan from north to south will lead to great peace of mind for both domestic and international users.
At JR Kyushu, where implementation is already underway, results have been confirmed not only in return rates but also in operational efficiency, and similar effects are expected at other JR passenger railway companies.
Together with the JR Group, a leading Japanese infrastructure provider, we aim to make find the de facto standard for lost property in Japan. With this strong conviction, find will continue to take on challenges alongside our diverse partners to realize our vision of "a world where lost items are always found."
