"Lost Item Cloud find," provided by find Inc. (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Akira Takashima; hereinafter referred to as "find"), has been decided for introduction by JR Shikoku. This decision marks the completion of its introduction across all JR lines, meaning that a vast amount of information, accounting for approximately 10% of lost items nationwide, will now be managed by "Lost Item Cloud find."
<Introduction Status at JR Passenger Railway Companies>
With this latest introduction, "Lost Item Cloud find" will become available at all of the following JR passenger railway companies:
・ JR Hokkaido (Hokkaido Railway Company)
・ JR East (East Japan Railway Company) *Operations to commence from April 1, 2026
・ JR Central (Central Japan Railway Company)
・ JR West (West Japan Railway Company) *Operations scheduled to commence from around Summer 2026
・ JR Shikoku (Shikoku Railway Company) *Operations scheduled to commence from October 2026
・ JR Kyushu (Kyushu Railway Company)
◆Background of Introduction and Future Prospects
Currently, approximately 24 million people use all JR lines daily, and the number of lost items handled is equivalent to about 10% of the total number of lost items nationwide (※1). Due to this sheer volume, JR passenger railway companies have dedicated significant effort to handling inquiries, returns, and reporting to the police.
In response to this situation, the introduction of "Lost Item Cloud find" enables AI-powered registration and searching, which is expected to significantly reduce management time and improve the return rate.
Furthermore, in 2025, the number of inbound tourists reached a record high of approximately 42 million (according to the Japan National Tourism Organization). Inquiries from foreign users are also rapidly increasing. find has established a system that allows direct inquiries via multilingual chat without the need for a dedicated app. This ensures a flexible system capable of handling international usage. (※Currently only available for JR Hokkaido as of this release.)
In the future, find aims to expand its introduction to related facilities such as commercial facilities within the JR Group and to achieve collaboration through "cross-searching." These efforts will further accelerate the realization of find's vision: "Towards a world where lost items are always found."
(※1)Estimated annual number of lost and found items at 50 million (estimated by find based on data)
