For the first production run, a special Collector’s Edition is offered with gold accents on the housing, packaged in a paulownia wood box. It includes an original Shinano-bukuro pouch made of Tango-chirimen (a traditional silk fabric woven in the Tango region of Kyoto), usable as a storage case, and a dedicated display stand.

True Diamond Diaphragm DU

Diamond is an ideal material for diaphragms due to its superior sound velocity and hardness. The 'True Diamond' diaphragm is manufactured using CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) technology, crystallizing diamond on silicon and then dissolving the silicon to create a diamond foil. This achieves faithful signal reproduction thanks to exceptional bending rigidity, and extremely short decay characteristics due to high internal loss, resulting in distortion rates below 1/100th of previous models in frequencies under 100Hz. Impulse response and waterfall measurements confirm minimal unwanted resonance and parasitic sounds.

Optimized Diaphragm Shape via Proprietary Research

The diaphragm shape used in this product represents the optimal balance of strength and lightness for diamond diaphragms, derived from final's proprietary research. A steep dome shape unseen in conventional headphone diaphragms, combined with cylindrical ribs on the outer edge, overcomes the traditional trade-off between rigidity and mass at a high level.

By achieving the ideal diamond diaphragm shape, high rigidity and lightness are realized, leading to superior transient response.

New Edge Design to Unlock Diamond Performance

Despite its ideal properties, diamond has a specific gravity of 3.5—about twice that of beryllium—causing rolling under load when used with film-type edges. Additionally, conventional edge materials tend to resonate at specific frequencies.

To solve these issues, a special polyurethane with excellent durability, lightness, elasticity, and stretchability is used, resolving the conflicting demands of mobility and resonance suppression.

Bobbin-Equipped Voice Coil and Air-Suspended Wiring

A lightweight yet high-strength polyimide bobbin provides high coil rigidity, enabling precise force transmission without lagging behind the moving system, enhancing piston motion accuracy. Furthermore, an air-suspended wiring structure directly connects the voice coil leads to terminals while floating them in mid-air. By completely separating the leads from the edge, asymmetric weight distribution is eliminated, allowing the diaphragm to operate in pure piston motion.

The lead wires use a high-strength special aluminum alloy with significantly improved tensile strength and resistance to flexural fatigue, ensuring durability.

Magnetic Circuit Design Supporting Diamond

Ultra-high-density magnetic flux from top-grade N55 neodymium magnets enables excellent transient response and rapid sound decay.

An aluminum shorting ring integrated into the magnetic circuit cancels inductive inductance, stabilizing the magnetic field and significantly reducing distortion at high amplitudes. Additionally, a dedicated damping system placed directly beneath the diamond dome fundamentally suppresses internal resonance within the DU.

Housing with Rigidity and Airtightness

Incorporating high-end speaker design principles into headphones, the housing achieves both rigidity and airtightness. Precision 5-axis CNC machining of aluminum-magnesium alloy ensures dimensional accuracy and structural rigidity required for acoustic design. The outer housing and front plate are secured with 12 through-bolts, eliminating adhesive use entirely and preventing air leakage at the structural level through a combination with gaskets.

Earpads Designed for Sound Pressure Frequency Characteristics

Fully sealed structures, commonly used in closed-back headphones, cause excessive bass boost, requiring high frequencies to be elevated for balance. For the refined sound targeted by this product, a smooth frequency response curve is essential.

Only with the design using Ultra Suede®—which allows minimal air escape while maintaining acoustic sealing through fine breathability—can the desired frequency characteristics be achieved.

Two Silver-Coated Cables Co-Developed with Junko Corporation

Co-developed with Junko Corporation, known for developing cables for the 'K' supercomputer. Silver-coated OFC wires incorporating Junfuron brand expertise minimize signal loss while maintaining high purity of audio signals.

Included are two cables: one with ePTFE (expanded fluororesin) insulation (4.4mm / 1.5m), and another with large cross-section conductors and PFA coating for long-distance use (4XLR / 3m).

Long-Term Usability Design with Repairability in Mind

The adhesive-free screw-assembly structure, developed for precise airtightness, allows direct disassembly and reassembly of the housing, directly contributing to long-term repairability.
