**What is Hasami-yaki?**
Hasami-yaki is porcelain produced in the town of Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Since the Edo period, tableware for the masses has been mass-produced, with items like the sometsuke 'kurawanka' bowls and 'conpura' bottles exported overseas being well-known.
It is thin, light, durable, and comes in a wide variety of designs, making it one of the most popular types of pottery even today.
