Morioka City: Announcement of Application Start for "MORIO Pay Premium Gift Certificates 2026"

FeliCa Pocket Marketing Co., Ltd. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tetsuji Nomura; hereinafter "the Company") has been providing the "MORIO Pay" app in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, since March 2021.

We are pleased to announce that applications for the "MORIO Pay Premium Gift Certificates 2026," implemented by Morioka City utilizing the national government's priority support local grants, began on Monday, April 6, 2026. For this project, the Company provides the system and app, and Morioka ValueCity Co., Ltd. (Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kunihisa Tanimura) serves as the operational secretariat.

This project aims to alleviate household burdens due to rising prices of energy, food, and other goods, and to support local consumption, by issuing premium electronic gift certificates through the "MORIO Pay" app. The gift certificates will be issued in two phases, Phase 1 and Phase 2. Each set can be purchased for 1,000 yen and used for 1,200 yen, allowing individuals to apply for a maximum of 30 sets. If the number of applications exceeds the number of available sets, a lottery will be held, with priority given to Morioka City residents.

Additionally, as a measure against rising prices utilizing the "MORIO Pay" app, a renovation support project will be implemented, providing "MORIO Pay Premium Gift Certificates 2026" equivalent to 60,000 yen to citizens who undertake renovation work meeting certain requirements.

The Company will continue to contribute to the revitalization of Morioka City's regional economy and the improvement of convenience for its citizens through this app.

When undertaking renovation work on your home, etc., a renovation support project will be implemented to provide 60,000 yen worth of electronic gift certificates "MORIO Pay Premium Gift Certificates 2026" issued by Morioka ValueCity Co., Ltd.

This time, only app-based electronic gift certificates issued within the "MORIO Pay" app will be issued; card-type electronic gift certificates will not be issued.

"MORIO Pay," operated by Morioka ValueCity Co., Ltd., is a charge-type regional electronic money that accumulates points, promoted in collaboration with Morioka City, the Morioka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nissenren Partners Co., Ltd., and others in Iwate Prefecture's Morioka City.

Furthermore, the "MORIO Pay" app, which has been used as an electronic money app, expanded its functions as a citizen's app with multiple mini-apps, such as stamp rallies and point exchange for prizes, through an update in March 2026.
