Future Design Shibuya (Representative Director: Hideki Koizumi) has decided to hold 'SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK 2026 (SIW)' from November 2 (Mon) to November 8 (Sun), 2026, as a venue where diverse players gather to envision the future and create actions toward implementation.

This event will unfold across the city of Shibuya as a platform that connects social issues with creativity to promote the creation of new value.

SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK is not just a conference event. From past discussions, it has created projects that lead to actual social implementation. For example, projects like the 'Shibuya Smart Drinking Project,' which promotes a new drinking culture from Shibuya, 'Our Wellness Action,' aiming for a society where everyone can live healthily and authentically, the 'SHIBUYA GREEN SHIFT PROJECT,' which updates urban environmental awareness, and the 'Street Sports Club,' which fosters community from the streets, were all born from encounters and dialogues at SIW and have started moving in the city of Shibuya. Last year, a total of 70,000 people participated, and the energy of crossing boundaries between companies, government, creators, and citizens to step beyond discussion into 'next actions' spread throughout the city.

SIW in 2026 will evolve further to produce 'Change-Makers'—people who create change—by sharing next perspectives, next ways of thinking, and next values as a place to carve out the future.

**Vision**
The ever-changing Shibuya becomes a place of creative encounters and a sacred land for social innovation. We aim to realize a society where people gathering in 'Shibuya: A city that turns differences into strength' have civic pride as creators of culture and value, contributing to the future.

**Mission**
To create a meeting place that connects diverse ideas with the future of society, creating new culture and industries from Shibuya.

**Theme**
BE A CHANGE-MAKER.

A constantly changing society. A constantly changing world. A constantly changing city. A constantly changing Shibuya. The times are always facing change, and the speed is accelerating. Will you just accept that wave of change? Or will you stand on the side that creates change yourself? SIW2026 will create a place to open up the future by sharing next perspectives, ways of thinking, and values with everyone who aspires to be a creator of change.

*Jungo Kanayama, SIW Executive Producer / Future Design Shibuya General Producer:*
SIW, which started in 2018, marks its 9th year. Personally, counting from its predecessor, DIVE DIVERSITY SUMMIT, this is the 10th time, and I feel a deep sense of emotion. Various social updates are repeated every year, and I feel the sign of a new era beginning very frequently. However, this year, I strongly feel an 'atmosphere' that marks a major milestone. One is the premonition of major changes in international affairs. I believe that new values, determination, and courage are required for companies and individuals to navigate this truly opaque situation, which could be described as a global VUCA. The other is that technology change has already been installed in society. Until now, there was a relative grace period from concept proposal to social implementation, but now, that cycle has been hyper-accelerated. Will you become a side that catches up with such changes in the times, or a side that leads the change itself? I think now is the timing to face that question. Therefore, we have set the theme for 2026 as 'BE A CHANGE-MAKER.' Through SIW, I hope to share the budding awareness of leading the times within the consciousness of participating companies and individuals.

*Shinko Osada, SIW Executive Producer / Future Design Shibuya Director & Secretary-General:*
SIW marks its 9th year. We have been persistent in realizing demonstration and implementation through co-creation, not just 'talking' about social issues. Shibuya is a city where both challenges and possibilities appear quickly. It is also a field where people who can move them gather. SIW is a place to meet across boundaries, start moving together, and create next actions.
