Kim Seung-gyu Selected for FIFA World Cup 2026™ South Korean National Team

We are pleased to announce that Kim Seung-gyu, currently playing for our club, has been selected as a member of the South Korean national team to participate in the 'FIFA World Cup 2026™' held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June to July 2026, as announced by the Korea Football Association (KFA).

Kim Seung-gyu's Comment:

"First of all, I am very honored to be selected for the World Cup team, which is the dream stage for any football player.

This is my fourth tournament, but it is always as exciting and looking forward to as if it were my first. Although I will be participating as a representative of South Korea, I am happy to be able to go to the World Cup as a player belonging to FC Tokyo. After my major injury, I don't think it would have been difficult to participate in the World Cup without FC Tokyo's help, so I am full of gratitude to the club. The goal I set when I came to Tokyo was to return and be active, to go to the World Cup, and to bring a title to the team.

I will not be satisfied with being selected this time, but I will experience many things at the World Cup and fight hard so that I can return to Tokyo and win the championship.
