Tokyo Coffee Festival '06'
In the ZINE '06', which marks the 6th issue produced, branching off from the theme of this Tokyo Coffee Festival, 'Encounter with the Unknown', we conducted an interview with Takeyuki Shigeta, the representative of the Japan Nel Drip Coffee Popularization Association, who is participating in this event for the first time. Based on the 'Story of Qishr' that came up during a visit to his store in Ogikubo, we touch upon the image of coffee as viewed by both producing and consuming countries.

Mr. Shigeta has worked with renowned masters such as Mr. Sekiguchi of Cafe de L'Ambre (Ginza), Mr. Shimegi of Moka (Kichijoji), and Mr. Taguchi of Cafe Bach (Minami-Senju). He also has friendships with the owners of home-roasting coffee shops that emerged from the late 80s to the 90s, such as Caravanserai (Kanazawa), Yamatoya Coffee (Gunma), Tokushima Coffee Works, and Horiguchi Coffee (Setagaya).

In this magazine, we introduce a part of the scenery that Mr. Shigeta, who could be called a living dictionary of the coffee world, has observed, interspersed with photos taken in Yemen where he stopped by in his youth.

- Three people associated with the legendary, now-closed Aoyama shop, Daibo Coffee, gather to serve nel drip coffee. First-ever experience tickets on sale!
