Summer Vacation Free Research Project: "Living Things x Home Appliances" is the Way to Go! Sharp's 'Nature Technology' Experience Event to be Held at 'Chikyu no Niwa Makuhari Shintoshin' Starting July 25 (Sat)

AEON Fantasy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, President: Tokuya Fujiwara, hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will hold an experiential event "Chikyu no Niwa x Nature Technology" at its playground facility "Chikyu no Niwa Makuhari Shintoshin," in collaboration with Sharp Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President & CEO: Tetsuji Kawamura, hereinafter referred to as "Sharp"). This event will allow participants to learn in a fun way about "Nature Technology," a technology that imitates the structures of living organisms. The event will commence on July 25 (Sat).

This event is themed around biomimetics technology, "Nature Technology," which imitates the superior properties and characteristics of living things. Through quizzes, crafts, and actual exhibits, participants can enjoy learning how the wisdom of nature benefits our lives (home appliances). This marks the second time Sharp has held a Nature Technology event at a "playground (indoor play facility)" operated by the Company, following the event at "Chikyu no Niwa Kashihara."

1. Learn by Seeing: "Amazing Secrets of Living Things" Panel Exhibition

Illustrations will clearly explain the surprising abilities of living things such as polar bears, dolphins, albatrosses, and bumblebees, and how they are used in Sharp home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, etc.).

2. Learn by Touching: Giant "Touchable Panels"

Oversized panels reproducing enlarged structures like the "seed arrangement of sunflowers" and "sea otter paws" will be featured. By actually touching them, visitors can experience the roles of textures like roughness and bumps, and understand why they were applied to drum-type washing dryers and hairbrushes.

3. Learn by Making: Experimental Workshop "Comparing Butterfly and Owl Feathers"

This is a workshop where participants create "special fans" shaped like butterfly wings and owl feathers. By fanning the completed fans and comparing them, participants will experience the differences in "wind softness" and "strength," experimenting with how feather shapes affect the wind.

4. Learn by Searching: Nature Technology Stamp Rally

A stamp rally will be held where participants search for quiz panels within the store and find the answers. Those who complete the quiz, such as "How much fur does a sea otter have?" and "What is the secret to the arrangement of sunflower seeds?" and collect all the stamps will receive an "original sticker" exclusive to this event.

"Chikyu no Niwa" aims to spark children's interest in the Earth through play. We are confident that learning about the "Amazing Secrets of Living Things" developed by Sharp's "Nature Technology" will be the best "play" and "learning" for children. In cooperation with Sharp, we have planned an event where children can experience the "wisdom of nature" behind the development of home appliances, which they normally wouldn't know about, through quizzes, crafts, and actual exhibits. This event is perfect for summer vacation free research projects, as it stimulates children's "Why? (curiosity)" and cultivates a scientific perspective while they play.
