Passing on the Rich Satoyama of Uenohara City, Yamanashi Prefecture to Children and the Future: Experiential Club for Local Elementary Students Launches at "Mieux Forest"!

At "Mieux Forest," a glamping facility in Uenohara City, Yamanashi Prefecture, operated by Aeon Fantasy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; President: Nobuyuki Fujiwara; hereinafter "the Company") as the designated administrator, we will launch an annual experiential club activity for local elementary school students called "Morikko Club (tentative)" starting Sunday, April 19, 2026.

This activity inherits the spirit of the "Satokko Club," an experiential club that was beloved at the "Prefectural Yuzurihara Youth Nature Village" (which closed in fiscal year 2022), and revives it with a fresh new look. The program is operated with the goal of providing opportunities for children from different schools and grade levels in the region to interact with nature and cooperate in crafting and various experiences. Recruitment was conducted through local elementary schools, and 46 children—exceeding the capacity—have signed up.

Background and Purpose: Rediscovering the Value of the Natural Environment and "Cycling" it Through Children's Hands Under Regional Symbiosis

In our sustainability materiality (key issues), the Company has set forth "Deepening communication with local communities" and "Realizing biodiversity conservation." Regarding "Deepening communication with local communities," we have previously promoted initiatives to invite local children to our indoor stores both domestically and internationally; this is our first such initiative within our outdoor business. Furthermore, regarding "Realizing biodiversity conservation," our medium-term goal is to "create places and opportunities where humans and nature coexist and conserve biodiversity." We have positioned this club as an initiative to realize this medium-term goal and plan to proceed with activities accordingly.

By utilizing the nature-rich fields of "Mieux Forest" and working with the children to maintain and regenerate forests and fields, we will maintain the richness of the satoyama (traditional rural landscape) and cultivate a "rich heart" that will connect to the next generation.

Official Announcement of the "New Club Name" at the Inauguration Ceremony on April 19 (Sun)!

At the inauguration ceremony on April 19, the first day of activities, we will officially announce the "new club name" selected from proposals submitted by the public in front of the participating children. The club will start its one-year journey under a name that the children can be proud of. On the day, in addition to an orientation for parents and self-introductions by the children, we plan to hold activities such as games in the great outdoors to cultivate observation skills, as well as a "time capsule" project where children write letters to their future selves one year later.

Annual Activity Program (Planned)

Throughout the year, we have prepared diverse programs that stimulate the five senses, protect nature, and nurture it together with friends in the natural environment.

April: Inauguration ceremony, nature games, time capsule May: Name tag making, field work June: Cooking wild vegetable tempura (learning to identify edible wild plants), crafts July: Weeding fields, river play October: "Nature Bingo" to learn about forest organisms, sweet potato harvesting, and outdoor cooking November: Forest Mystery Adventure December: Christmas crafts January: Mochi pounding, karuta (card game) making February: Cooperation games March: Completion ceremony, digging up the time capsule
