On March 14, 2026 (Saturday), Fancl Corporation held the event "Nagomi time Ennichi – A Day to Soothe Mind and Body –" at Belle Salle Ariake Conference Center (Koto-ku, Tokyo), targeting cancer patients, citizens, their families, and healthcare professionals. This event was held with the aim of providing opportunities for learning, experience, and exchange, centered on "appearance care," which addresses external changes due to cancer treatment, through collaboration between medical institutions, experts, and companies. Approximately 100 people attended the venue, spending a positive time interacting with each other through talk shows, makeup experiences, and dance programs. 【Background of the Event】 In recent years, with advancements in cancer treatment, we have entered an era of "living while undergoing treatment," making initiatives to support patients' quality of life (QOL) increasingly important. In particular, "appearance care," which is care for external changes caused by cancer treatment, is considered not just cosmetic care but also crucial support for patients to live their lives authentically while staying connected to society. This event was held in cooperation with the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, Ariake Hospital, as an event where participants could experience appearance care by combining "medical knowledge," "easy-to-incorporate self-care in daily life," and "interaction among participants." 【Event Day Report】 ■ Talk Session by Anna Umiya and Healthcare Professionals Talent Anna Umiya appeared as a special guest for the talk show. Reflecting on her own experience with cancer, Ms. Umiya said, "My perspective on life changed significantly before and after getting cancer. My daughter told me, 'You've become so much gentler, like a different person.'" Regarding her experience with cancer, she stated her desire to live a life where she can find meaning in having had cancer, saying, "I believe there are people being diagnosed with cancer today as well. I want to be of help to someone by sharing my experiences in a tangible way. I want to live a life where I can feel that having had cancer had a purpose." Healthcare professionals from the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR also took the stage, and opinions were exchanged regarding the environment surrounding cancer patients and the nature of support. Miho Nakamura, Head Nurse of the Patient and Family Support Department at the Total Care Center of the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, said, "If detected early, there's a possibility that hair loss can be avoided. That's why early screening is so important." She also touched upon the necessity of creating places where people can easily consult not only at medical institutions but also within their communities. Dr. Akemi Kataoka, Chief of Breast Surgery at the Breast Center of the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, urged, "We hope you will share what you learned today with those around you when you return home.
