On Sunday, March 8, International Women's Day, FANCL Corporation held a menopause seminar featuring obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Miho Takao at the "Nihonbashi Hall" on the 9th floor of the Nihonbashi Takashimaya Mitsui Building (Chuo-ku, Tokyo). Out of 512 applicants, 94 participants were selected through a rigorous lottery process.

The company has been conducting "FANCL MENOPAUSE ACTION" (https://www.fancl.jp/menopause/index.html), an initiative to support those going through menopause, since October 2024. This seminar was held as part of that initiative.

The session began with a medical perspective on the "gender differences" between men and women. Dr. Takao carefully explained the differences in hormones and the impact that the decline in female hormones has on various parts of the body, highlighting how significantly female hormones influence one's life.

Following this, the discussion moved to menopause, based on the relationship between women's lifestyles and health.

She provided detailed explanations regarding the timing and symptoms of menopause, the relationship between beauty and bone density, and care methods. She also explained that because menopause significantly impacts economic activity, it is a social issue. She emphasized that alleviating menopausal symptoms cannot be solved unless the individual themselves is aware of the issue, and above all, it is necessary to have a thorough understanding of menopause.

Finally, the 50-minute lecture concluded with information on appropriate care and precautions based on post-menopausal symptoms.

After a break, Dr. Takao kindly answered many questions from the participants. The 1-hour and 50-minute seminar concluded to great acclaim after all participants performed stretches recommended by the doctor.

Before and after the seminar, booths were set up where participants could check their own skin and body condition, including the "Bone Wave" for a 40-second bone health check, the "Skin Check Corp" to analyze pores, spots, and skin texture in 10 seconds, and vascular age measurements. These booths were also well-attended by many until the closing time.
