Building on five long-standing key initiatives and under the slogan 'Ichiban Challenge,' the company continues to innovate. As part of its 'Ichiban Delicious' initiative, FamilyMart has completed the nationwide rollout of its industry-first new coffee machine—delivering the highest taste quality in the company’s history (※1)—across approximately 16,400 stores on June 2, 2026 (Tuesday).

Additionally, the company announces that the newly introduced large-capacity LL size has sold over 1 million cups within two weeks of launch (※3), receiving strong customer acclaim. FamilyMart has also conducted a survey on coffee consumption habits.

The reality of 'personalized convenience store coffee' enabled by the 'highest-taste coffee in FamilyMart history'

A FamilyMart-conducted survey on coffee consumption habits revealed that a significant number of users seek a 'customized' coffee experience. The survey targeted 800 individuals nationwide aged 20–59 who regularly consume coffee or lattes and have used the new FAMIMA CAFÉ coffee machine. 94.4% responded that they 'want to drink coffee tailored to their preferences (adjusting strength or milk volume)'—highlighting strong interest in customization. (Figure 1)

88% of users rate the new coffee machine as 'delicious'!

In the survey, 88.0% of respondents rated the coffee from the new machine as 'delicious.' (Figure 2) When asked what aspects contributed to the taste, 'aroma' was most praised, followed closely by 'richness (kokumi).' These results confirm that the 2026 refreshed product—rated highest in internal tests—is also resonating with real users, validating the claim of 'the best-tasting coffee in FamilyMart history' (※1).

Looking at regular consumption habits, 58.4% prefer black coffee, while 41.6% prefer lattes—slightly favoring black coffee drinkers. Among black coffee drinkers, 91.4% said they 'would like to switch between coffee strengths (strong, regular, light) depending on their mood,' while 95.2% of latte drinkers expressed interest in adjusting 'latte strength (coffee-rich, regular, milk-rich).' (Figure 3) While the desired customization differs—black coffee drinkers focus on 'strength,' latte drinkers on 'coffee-to-milk balance'—both groups show a strong desire for their 'perfect cup.'

LL Size achieves strong start, surpassing 1 million cups in just 2 weeks

Backed by high taste quality and customization, the LL size recorded 1 million sales within just two weeks of launch. The trend toward larger 'mega drinks' (※4) has further supported this success, reflecting an expanding perception of value in convenience store coffee.
