Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki Project (Location: Oyodonaka, Kita-ku, Osaka; Chief Operating Officer: Shigeru Oshima) will hold a winery dinner event in collaboration with Tamba Wine, a winery in Kyotamba, on Saturday, July 25, 2026. This event is exclusively for guests staying at Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotamba on the day of the event.

The Fairfield by Marriott Michi-no-Eki Project operates 29 lodging-focused hotels nationwide, advocating a travel style that explores "the unknown charms of local regions" from the hotel as a base. The project's concept is "Quest for the Unknown Japan," aiming to provide unique local experiences and discover the hidden attractions across the country. The "Tamba Wine Winery Dinner," where guests can experience the charm of Kyotamba Town, Kyoto Prefecture, has been highly popular every time since its first implementation in 2022.

This event will welcome Mr. Kisei Kakiuchi, a gibier hunter based in Kyotamba Town, Kyoto Prefecture, as a guest. Mr. Kakiuchi is the representative of "Kakinouchi's Deer Meat," a gibier brand from Kyoto that obtained the first certification under the national gibier certification system established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

On the day of the event, Mr. Kakiuchi will first hold a talk event. He will share secret stories about his daily hunting activities and gibier. This will be a valuable opportunity to learn about the hunting scene, which is usually unheard of, and the process of delivering safe and secure gibier. Following this, you will witness a live demonstration of deboning a deer thigh up close. Through this immersive demonstration, you can experience the appeal of gibier with all five senses.

After learning about the background of the ingredients and the passion of the producers, you will enjoy a deer meat-centric dinner. To ensure the safety of gibier, "Kakinouchi's Deer Meat" maintains thorough hygiene management and sets clear standards that are far stricter than those stipulated by the government. The deer meat is characterized by its lack of the peculiar gibier odor and its fresh, smooth texture. High in protein, low in fat, and rich in iron, deer meat is also gaining attention from those conscious about beauty and health. You will enjoy multiple dishes made with this high-quality deer meat, accompanied by brands from Tamba Wine, a winery rooted in Kyotamba Town. This special dining experience offers a unique combination of local deer meat nurtured by rich nature and local wine born from the same climate, allowing you to savor the essence of Kyotamba Town.

<Pairing Wines> "Kyoto Tamba Tannat 2022" is an authentic full-bodied red wine brewed using the globally rare "Tannat" grape variety, primarily cultivated in the Madiran region of southwestern France. The name Tannat is said to be the origin of "tannin" and is known for its powerful astringency, but in this wine, by carefully aging it in wooden barrels, the tannins have been finished to be very fine and smooth. The rich fruitiness and delicate astringency are wonderfully harmonized, creating an elegant wine with a rich yet subtly delicate Kyoto-like nuance lingering in the gentle finish. 2022 was a very blessed vintage for grapes, with higher average temperatures during the growing season and less rainfall than usual. The harvest volume was also above average, and the excellent characteristics of the high-quality grapes, carefully hand-picked bunch by bunch, have been fully brought out. It pairs exceptionally well with gibier dishes such as deer, allowing you to enjoy a blissful marriage where powerful flavors enhance each other. In addition, Tamba Wine will offer a total of four carefully selected wines to match the dinner. Please look forward to it.
