The GREEN×EXPO Association (official name: Public Interest Incorporated Association International Horticultural Expo 2027 Association, Chairman: Yoshinobu Tsutsui, Location: Naka-ku, Yokohama City) announced the uniforms for VIP attendant staff who will welcome domestic and international guests at GREEN×EXPO 2027.

These uniforms were created through an industry-academia collaboration uniform design project, with designs developed by students studying design at Iwasaki Gakuen (Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama City), an educational institution celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2027.

The designed uniforms were commercialized by Daiichi Co., Ltd. (Naka-ku, Yokohama City) and Toray Industries, Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and will be worn by VIP attendant staff to welcome domestic and international guests at GREEN×EXPO 2027, which opens on March 19, 2027.

Design Concept (from the students' "Design Sheet")

- "Muscari and Wa" ~Bright Future~

To symbolize the theme of GREEN×EXPO 2027, "Tomorrow's Landscape Creating Happiness," we chose the flower "Muscari." Its flower language is "bright future." Muscari, which heralds spring, evokes hope and gently encourages a positive step towards the future.

And the spirit of "Wa" (harmony), which is our origin—that is, the attitude of living in harmony with nature and with people—is a crucial and indispensable value for building a "happy landscape."

By layering "Muscari and Wa," we designed with the hope that it will lead to a bright and peaceful future.

Main Items (from the students' "Design Sheet")

- Jacket

Inspired by the Muscari flower, we based it on a noble purple color suitable for VIP attendant staff. The collar and the cuffs are designed to resemble a kimono.

- Pants

Similar to the jacket, inspired by the Muscari flower, we based it on a noble purple color suitable for VIP attendant staff. Designed to suit both men and women and to allow for easy movement, they are slightly wide with simple pockets that do not interfere with the design.

- Shirt

Inspired by traditional Japanese clothing, the collar is designed to overlap, a belt adds a stylish touch, and three-quarter sleeves make temperature adjustment easy.

- Hat

The design looks like a flower when viewed from the sky. It expresses the vibrant and lively GREEN×EXPO 2027, full of life like spring at all times, and the desire to deliver new landscapes and hope to everyone.

Comments from the Designing Students

We designed these uniforms so that VIP attendant staff can wear them with pride, confidence, and approachability, and so that visitors can enjoy GREEN×EXPO 2027. We are very pleased to have been given such an honorable opportunity.

Efforts for Uniform Resource Circulation

The significance of holding GREEN×EXPO 2027 is to propose the creation of a sustainable and deeply happy society that coexists with nature through interaction with flowers and greenery.

These uniforms use materials provided by Toray Industries, Inc., which incorporate partially plant-derived polyester fiber. After the exhibition period, used uniforms will be collected, and material recycling* will be considered to re-commercialize them into new products such as flower pots.

*Material recycling: A recycling method that reuses used products as raw materials to transform them into new products.
