Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Tetsuya Suwabe; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has commenced construction work on the grid-connected battery storage facility "Eurus Shiranuka Battery Park" (Rated Output: 30,000kW, Storage Capacity: 143,043kWh) in Shiranuka Town, Shiranuka District, Hokkaido, starting March 30, 2026.

Towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the introduction and mainstreaming of renewable energy (hereinafter referred to as "RE") are progressing. However, the instability of supply-demand balance due to output fluctuations from wind and solar power generation, which are dependent on season and weather, has become a challenge. The necessity for grid-connected battery storage systems to respond to these fluctuations is increasing. Our group is engaged in the battery storage business to promote the spread of RE and stabilize the power grid. To date, we have developed four grid-connected battery storage facilities domestically and two overseas (including those under construction). Furthermore, we optimize the operation of our battery storage facilities through multi-use control utilizing our proprietary VPP platform "ReEra.".

This storage facility has been selected for the "Subsidy Program for the Introduction of Renewable Energy Expansion and Grid-Connected Battery Storage Systems" by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy for FY2024. It will be the fifth grid-connected battery storage facility in Japan and the second in Hokkaido. It is composed of lithium-ion batteries with a rated output of 30,000kW and a storage capacity of 143,043kWh. Commercial operation is scheduled to begin in December 2028. After commencing operation, we plan to control and operate the battery storage system using "ReEra.".

Under our corporate philosophy of "Contributing to the preservation of the global environment through the promotion and expansion of clean energy," our group will continue to work towards the stable supply of electricity utilizing grid-connected battery storage systems, in addition to further expanding wind and solar power generation, thereby contributing to the preservation of the global environment and the creation of a sustainable society.
