Our corporate group has been working on the energy storage business for the popularization of renewables and the stabilization of the power grid, having developed four grid storage facilities domestically and two overseas (including those under construction) so far. Furthermore, we are performing optimal operation of the storage facilities through multi-use control utilizing our proprietary VPP platform, 'ReEra'.
This storage facility was adopted for the 'FY2024 Subsidy for the Introduction of Power Storage Systems such as Grid Storage Batteries for the Expansion of Renewable Energy Introduction' by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, making it our fifth domestic and second Hokkaido grid storage facility. It consists of lithium-ion batteries with a rated output of 30,000 kW and a storage capacity of 143,043 kWh, and commercial operation is scheduled to start in December 2028.
