Euglena Co., Ltd. Holds Second 'Euglena Hometown Ishigaki Island Special Tour 2026' Event Report

Euglena Co., Ltd. held the 'Euglena Hometown Ishigaki Island Special Tour 2026' from Friday, February 20 to Monday, February 23, 2026, on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, the production base for Euglena.

This second event brought together 20 fans from a wide range of generations, selected by lottery from across the country. It was a special four-day event where participants experienced and co-created the future Euglena aims for – 'Making People and the Planet Healthy' – through factory tours touching upon Euglena's origins, travel by bus fueled by the biofuel 'Sustheo' made possible by participant support, and an 'Earth Clean' experience involving beach cleanups.

Co-creation by Three Parties! Sustainable Bus Travel with Biofuel 'Sustheo'

As a first for this tour, 'Sustheo,' an eco-friendly next-generation biofuel, was used as fuel for the tour bus. This initiative was framed as a collaboration, acknowledging that climate change countermeasures are a societal challenge, not just a corporate one. Participants, Euglena Co., Ltd., and the bus operator, Ishigaki Island Eagle Kanko Co., Ltd., each contributed to cover the fuel costs.
