香川縣觀音寺市（市長：佐伯明浩，以下稱觀音寺市）與愛普生銷售股份有限公司（代表取締役社長：栗林治夫，總公司：東京都新宿區，以下稱愛普生銷售）依據總務省推動的「地域活性化企業家制度」，簽訂了派遣愛普生銷售員工至觀音寺市的協定。
本協定將配合觀音寺市制定的數位轉型（DX）推動計畫，致力於推動行政DX、培育數位人才，以及運用VR（註1）與AR（註2）技術發布新的地區魅力，藉此透過官民合作推動地區活性化。

觀音寺市位於香川縣西端，是面向瀨戶內海的西讚地區中心都市，地理位置約在四國的中央。市內有三豐平野和有明濱廣闊展開，南部有讚岐山脈的雲邊寺山，擁有山、海、平原和諧共存的豐富自然環境。除了琴彈公園內的「錢形砂繪（寬永通寶）」之外，還有四國八十八箇所第68番札所「神惠院」及第69番札所「觀音寺」等歷史文化資源。以這些地區資源和產業為背景，觀音寺市正積極開展各種利用地區特性來發展的事業。
