Epson Launches Three New A3 Network-Ready Document Scanners

　Epson Sales Japan Corporation announced the launch of three new A3-compatible document scanner models: the 『DS-71000WN』, 『DS-61000WN』, and 『DS-51000WN』, which will be released on May 28, 2026.

　In recent years, with the promotion of digitization of administrative documents, the utilization of Government Cloud, and compliance with the Electronic Book Preservation Act, digitizing paper documents has become essential in all business areas. Amidst this, scanners are increasingly required not just as capture devices, but also to "digitize efficiently and without stress." In response to these needs, Epson is releasing the 『DS-71000WN』, 『DS-61000WN』, and 『DS-51000WN』.

　These new products, successors to the "DS-70000", "DS-60000", and "DS-50000" series, not only evolve the scanning function of the platen but also come standard with network functionality, a strong request from customers. Furthermore, for the first time in A3-compatible document scanners, they incorporate a function that allows scanning with only the scanner unit, without PC operation, a capability previously realized only with multifunction printers. This achieves both "elimination of waiting congestion" and "high-speed processing" unique to dedicated scanning machines. They are expected to be actively used in a wide range of businesses, including local governments and medical fields, which handle many A3-sized documents, as well as finance and education settings that require scanning of bound documents like contracts and books. Epson aims to contribute to improving customer business efficiency and building comfortable workflows by expanding its scanner product lineup that supports business digitalization.

■ Standard network support, enabling "Scan directly to destination without PC operation"

　Compatible with wired/wireless LAN, these scanners can be shared by multiple PCs or scanned directly from smart devices. Additionally, they are equipped with a PC-less function that allows direct data transmission and saving to a specified destination via the network. This "no PC" workflow is easy to operate even in environments with rotating personnel, reducing operational errors and waiting times.
