The EPEIOS "Balance" coffee scale was developed and first introduced in 2025 with the goal of allowing anyone to enjoy delicious hand-dripped coffee.

It is equipped with multiple support functions that automate complex calculations and laborious measurements traditionally done by the user, such as a function to calculate the target pour amount based on a set brew ratio, flow rate measurement during pouring, and pour time measurement. Furthermore, it features a support mode (Assist Mode) that guides the hand-drip process and signals completion, as well as a professional mode (Competition Mode) for measuring precise brew ratios. It was born as a coffee scale that allows not only stress-free daily dripping but also enables serious users to thoroughly pursue their ideal cup, truly letting anyone enjoy hand-dripping to the fullest.

### **・Brew Ratio Setting and Automatic Pour Amount Calculation (Partially Upgraded)**

You can set an arbitrary ratio of coffee grounds to water, and the scale will automatically calculate the required pour amount based on the weighed coffee grounds.

While the old Balance model supported a brew ratio of 1:5 to 1:20 (coffee grounds:water), the second-generation model now supports settings from 1:1 to 1:20. The adjustment can be made in fine 0.5 increments, allowing for the replication of various hand-drip recipes and versatile use for purposes other than coffee.

### **・Three Brewing Modes**

Equipped with three brewing modes to cater to everyone from hand-drip beginners to competition-oriented professional users.

**・Assist Mode: The main mode that guides your ideal drip**

After setting the brew ratio, the timer starts automatically when you begin pouring. The current pour amount and pouring speed (flow rate) are displayed in real-time. An audible notification is given when you are within 10g of the target pour amount. Upon reaching the target, a completion sound and a [target] display will notify you, supporting anyone in reproducing their ideal recipe and deliciousness.

**・Competition Mode: A more professional mode for pursuing coffee perfection**

This is a professional mode that strictly calculates the actual brew ratio from the amount of coffee grounds used and the amount of extracted coffee liquid after the drip is complete. Like the Assist Mode, it displays the current pour amount and pouring speed (flow rate) in real-time, guiding you until the pour is finished.

### **・Main Body Design (Partially Upgraded)**

The design has been updated to create a more user-friendly scale. To improve visibility, the monitor section is now a size larger than the previous model. The buttons for each function still light up when the power is on, but the design has been changed to a transparent style so they can be identified even when the power is off.

While retaining the luxurious textured finish of the weighing surface, the logo has been changed from the conventional print processing to a molded finish, creating a more minimal and simple design.
