Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Yukito Ishi, Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "the Company") is pleased to announce that construction has begun on "(Tentative Name) LOGIFRONT 01-LabFactory Kawasaki Takatsu" (Location: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereinafter "this Facility"), a complex facility integrating logistics facilities with rental R&D and factory spaces, commissioned by Nittetsu Kowa Real Estate Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masahiro Miwa, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo).

This Facility aims to be a "cutting-edge logistics facility x open innovation hub" that enhances logistics functions by leveraging its excellent access to major roads, and meets the new facility needs of companies' research and development and production departments. The Company is responsible for design and construction, and by maximizing the use of our technology and know-how, we will realize the following plans and work towards creating a sustainable facility that is open to the community:

Facility plan that enables the introduction of industrial support functions for rental R&D and factory use

Reduction of environmental impact through urban greening and utilization of renewable energy, and formation of a landscape that considers the surrounding environment

Improvement of regional disaster resilience through suppression of rainwater runoff and securing temporary evacuation functions

Formation of a safe and convenient urban infrastructure through the development of through-traffic passages and open spaces

In addition, this Facility will incorporate approximately 400 units of our seismic isolation technology, "Unbonded Brace®"*, which absorbs energy during earthquakes to suppress damage to the building, thereby improving business continuity and also serving as a regional disaster prevention base.

The Company has a track record in logistics-related facilities as one of its core competencies, with cumulative orders in this field reaching approximately 4.5 million square meters. In addition to its functionality as a logistics facility, we will continue to contribute to the creation of a sustainable and resilient social and industrial infrastructure by responding to the diverse and evolving needs of logistics facilities, including considerations for the environment, disaster prevention, disaster mitigation, labor force securing, and multi-use capabilities.
