We are pleased to announce that our company has agreed with PETROLIAM NASIONAL BERHAD (hereinafter "PETRONAS"), Malaysia's state-owned oil company, to acquire 10% of the issued shares of Malaysia LNG Tiga SDN. Tiga Sdn. Bhd. was established in 1995 as a joint venture between our company, PETRONAS, and others, with the aim of liquefying natural gas produced from the SK10 block and other areas offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. Since the inception of the project, our company has been responsible for LNG marketing support for Japan.
On April 1, 2026, the ENEOS Group transferred the natural gas liquefaction business and domestic sales business, which were under the jurisdiction of ENEOS Corporation, to our company, which is responsible for oil and natural gas development and production, thereby integrating the natural gas and LNG supply chain from gas field development to domestic natural gas sales in Japan*².
In Malaysia, in addition to the re-participation in Tiga Sdn. Bhd., our company is developing business through participation in the SK10 block project, which is responsible for gas field development and production, and PETRONAS LNG 9 SDN. BHD. (hereinafter, PL9SB), which conducts natural gas liquefaction business. We will continue to strengthen the foundation of our natural gas and LNG business in cooperation with PETRONAS and the Sarawak State Government.
Global demand for natural gas and LNG is expected to expand, and their importance as low-carbon energy sources is also increasing. The ENEOS Group, in its 4th Medium-Term Management Plan, aims to expand its natural gas and LNG business through strategic investments and will strive to ensure a stable energy supply to Japan and other Asian countries.
