ENEOS Renewable Energy Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Yasushi Onoda) has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement regarding renewable energy (hereinafter "renewable energy") projects with Yamada Town, Shimohei District, Iwate Prefecture (Mayor: Shin-itsu Sato). A signing ceremony was held at the Yamada Town Office on March 26. Based on this agreement, the parties will discuss specific measures, including the construction of new renewable energy power plants within Yamada Town, the utilization of generated electricity by the town and local businesses (local production for local consumption), regional revitalization and local contribution activities, and strengthening resilience against disasters. Construction of the first renewable energy power plant development project, the JRE Yamada Town Orikasa District Solar Power Plant, has been completed, with operations scheduled to begin in April 2026. This power plant utilizes unused land owned by Yamada Town that was affected by the tsunami during the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011. Moving forward, we will continue to deepen our cooperation with Yamada Town, promote the effective use of unused land, and actively engage in the study and implementation of contribution measures for the region, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of both parties. We will continue to promote decarbonization and the spread of renewable energy in the region through our renewable energy power generation business.
