Today, at the ENEOS Headquarters in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President Atsushi Yamaguchi delivered a message to new employees as follows:

Congratulations to all 366 of you on joining ENEOS. This is the first step for those who will carry the future of ENEOS, and I am delighted to welcome you.

[Philosophy]
First, I would like to speak about the 'ENEOS Group Philosophy.' It is vital: 'Harnessing the Earth's power for the benefit of society and the lives of people. Through creation and innovation in energy, resources, and materials, we contribute to society's development and the creation of a vibrant future.' As professionals, you now bear a greater responsibility toward society. Always keep this philosophy in mind and return to it whenever you feel uncertain.

[ENEOS Initiatives for Long-Term Vision]
We face great uncertainty due to international tensions, particularly in the Middle East. ENEOS has consistently undertaken Japan's energy supply from procurement to sales. In these uncertain times, fulfilling our mission of safe and stable supply is paramount. Regarding our strategic direction to balance 'Stable Supply' with 'Carbon Neutrality,' we must first strengthen our domestic business. Improving refinery operation rates through proper maintenance and operation is crucial. In sales, we will enhance our SS network using the ENEOS app and digital marketing to provide new value. For 'New Profit Opportunities,' we will expand global fuel operations and trading. In low-carbon businesses, we are focusing on biofuels for aviation (SAF) and marine sectors, expanding into synthetic fuels and chemicals. While you may not be 'battle-ready' immediately, I expect you to think for yourselves and contribute as soon as possible.

[What I Want You to Value]
I want to share three things. First and most important is 'Safety.' In May last year, a fatal accident occurred at our Sakai Refinery due to a hydrogen sulfide leak. We have thoroughly investigated the cause and implemented measures to ensure this is never forgotten. I will do everything to prevent a recurrence. However, safety depends on every individual on-site. Please always heighten your sensitivity and act with the mindset that 'it might be dangerous' rather than 'it's probably fine.' Second is 'working with peace of mind'...
