We are very pleased to welcome 412 of you who will be responsible for the future of the ENEOS Group.

【About the ENEOS Group Philosophy】

The ENEOS Group's philosophy is based on the mission: "Harnessing the power of the Earth for the power of society, and for the power of people's lives. Through creation and innovation in energy, resources, and materials, we contribute to social development and the creation of a vibrant future." As you are all aware, the Middle East, from which Japan procures most of its crude oil, is in a state of tension. What we must address now is stable supply. It is important to ensure a stable supply throughout the entire supply chain, from crude oil procurement to refinery operations and delivery to our customers, even in times of any emergency.

Next, I will talk about our business.

First, I want you to remember safety. We believe that our business cannot exist without the safety of our employees. We prioritize ensuring that no one is injured or causes injury from the moment they leave home until they return. Please keep this firmly in mind. Safety is not easy. We must constantly consider the possibility of unexpected events, develop a habit of risk assessment, and then change our actions accordingly. Always ask yourself, "What is the risk? What is dangerous? What is a hazard?" and assess it. Please be conscious of this both at work and in your daily life.

Next, I will talk about the introduction of AI, which will be the starting point for transformation. We expect you to be the generation that masters it the most. From now on, we will thoroughly implement AI. For the past few years, we have been advancing AI adoption in various operations, including planning, supply chain management, administrative departments, and finance departments. I believe we are entering an era where AI will handle what it can, people will focus on the work they should do, and those who use their minds will increasingly succeed.

Another area is portfolio transformation and global expansion. Our business development, which has traditionally been Japan-centric, is now expanding globally, particularly to Asia and North America. In fact, we are pursuing M&A and organic growth overseas. Recently, we successfully spun off our metals business through an IPO, yielding significant results. In the future, many of you will likely be assigned overseas. As positions requiring English discussion skills increase, please start polishing your language skills little by little from now on.

To summarize, I hope you will keep "safety," "transformation through AI, etc.," and "global expansion/portfolio transformation" in mind as you work.
