This initiative has started with the installation of two units each of the standard EV charger "Eneliver Wallbox" at the Sendai Watarase, Kobuchizawa, Maebashi Minami, and Tokyo Shinkiba locations, with plans to expand to other Family Lodge Hatagoya sites nationwide.

Since its founding in 1994, Family Lodge Hatagoya has operated roadside accommodations primarily along major highways and tourist areas across Japan. It currently manages over 70 locations nationwide and serves as a nationwide lodging chain supporting car-based travel and long-distance trips.

In recent years, the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has increased demand for EV charging infrastructure at tourist destinations and lodging facilities. For long-distance travel and leisure use, the ability to "recharge safely at the destination" has become a key factor in EV usage, raising expectations for "destination charging" that leverages overnight stays.

Roadside accommodations like Family Lodge Hatagoya are highly compatible with long-distance car travel and leisure activities, making them ideal locations for enhancing EV driver convenience. By installing EV charging equipment, lodging facilities become more attractive to EV users and improve guest satisfaction by offering a secure and reliable charging environment during their stay.

The decision by Hatagoya locations to install the Eneliver Wallbox was driven by two major requirements that Eneliver successfully addressed.
