Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to announce dreams. This press release is the dream of "Ending Career Co., Ltd."
Background of the Dream
I am Sato, the representative director of Ending Career Co., Ltd. I am 47 years old, born in 1979. The reason I came to have the dream of "realizing a society where everyone works with sparkling eyes" lies in my own original experience.
In the spring of 2007, I was working at a telecommunications venture company in Ichigaya, Tokyo. Having faced the employment ice age, I had previously moved through physically and mentally demanding jobs such as night work and door-to-door sales, and this was finally my entry into the "sunny world of business."
However, I couldn't create good proposals, and less than a month after joining the company, my boss told me that "Sato cannot be entrusted with work," effectively sidelining me. In despair and anxiety, I spent gloomy days, unable to cry even when I wanted to. The beautiful cherry blossoms around Ichigaya Station looked gray to me.
In that situation, a senior colleague saved me. They listened carefully to my story and persistently encouraged and guided me, saying, "It might be difficult now, but Sato, you can do it!" Thanks to their support, a year later, I was evaluated as having the best proposal creation ability in the company, and after that, I was able to pursue a happy career, including launching overseas businesses and serving as head of human resources.
To Increase the Number of People Who Work with Sparkling Eyes
Just as I was once saved, I now want to support someone else's career. With that in mind, I founded Ending Career Co., Ltd. in 2020. We believe that improving organizational engagement is the foundation for creating a society where everyone works with sparkling eyes, and we are committed to supporting the realization of the potential of individuals and organizations.
Why This Dream is Needed: The Reality of Engagement in the World and Japan
This dream is also an urgent issue for modern Japanese society. According to a Gallup survey (2024-2025 edition), while approximately 22% of employees worldwide are "enthusiastic," Japan's figure remains a mere 6% to 7%. This is the lowest level in the world, significantly below the East Asian average of 18%. The company estimates that the Japanese economy suffers an annual loss of approximately 86 trillion yen due to low engagement.
