eMotion Fleet Partners with Nissan Motor to Strengthen Corporate Sales of Used EVs

eMotion Fleet Inc. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa; Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO: Ivan Espinosa; hereinafter referred to as "Nissan Motor") aimed at promoting the sale of used EVs (electric vehicles) to corporations.

Through this collaboration, we aim to promote the spread of economical commercial EV fleets, enhance the asset value of used EVs, and establish a sustainable EV circulation model in Japan.

[Background and Objectives of Collaboration]

Currently, the domestic used EV market faces the challenge that approximately 80% of high-quality used EVs are exported overseas due to difficulties in objectively assessing the health of onboard batteries and setting appropriate residual values. Furthermore, the high initial cost of EV adoption is a major barrier for businesses. On the other hand, the demand for used EVs as a more economically rational decarbonization option is rapidly increasing, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises and local governments.

Against this backdrop, this collaboration will merge Nissan Motor's leading domestic used EV assets and battery diagnostic technology with eMotion Fleet's commercial EV introduction and operation solutions. We will construct the "Nissan Used EV Introduction and Operation Support Service," which combines used EVs equipped with the manufacturer's official "Nissan Battery Health Certificate" with eMotion Fleet's EV operation and energy management system (FMS/EMS), and will sequentially offer it to transportation operators, local governments, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

This initiative will simultaneously achieve a significant reduction in initial introduction costs and optimization of operating costs, creating an economically rational used EV utilization model. Furthermore, by providing integrated support from introduction to operation, we will maintain battery health and extend battery life, realize appropriate residual value formation and maximize asset value based on data. Ultimately, this will contribute to establishing an ecosystem that keeps high-quality used EVs within the domestic market.

[Key Synergies and Solutions Provided by This Collaboration]

Through the collaboration between the two companies, we will provide the following integrated solutions for businesses:

1. Comprehensive provision of the "Nissan Used EV Introduction and Operation Support Service"

Nissan Motor's used EVs will be packaged with eMotion Fleet's introduction support services and EV operation and energy management system (FMS/EMS).

2. Reduction of initial costs through EV asset management integration

By incorporating Nissan's used EVs into eMotion Fleet's monthly fixed-rate service, initial costs for businesses will be significantly reduced. This will strongly support the electrification of small and medium-sized businesses and local governments (for public vehicles) that have previously abandoned EV adoption due to cost.
